The 15th edition of the Taiwan KOM Challenge will be held on November 1st–2nd, 2026, combined with the "Hualien Pacific Cup Liushidan Mountain Race" on October 30th–31st, forming a four-day event schedule — a rare multi-day race format in Taiwan..
Due to this year's unusually heavy rainfall, in addition to post-earthquake recovery work along the Taroko Gorge route, new landslides continue to occur, and the works units are still carrying out emergency repairs. For this reason, out of safety concerns, the road-authority works units have not been able to approve the route up to Wuling via Taroko.
Therefore, the 2026 Taiwan KOM Challenge is activating a backup route — taking in Niushan Mountain twice, crossing the Coastal Mountain Range, and passing through the Yuchang Highway twice — continuing the KOM spirit of daring to challenge yourself and push beyond your limits.
