The 15th Taiwan KOM Challenge has expanded into a two-day program, featuring the opening event - the Hualien Individual Time Trial - and the Taiwan KOM Challenge. For cycling enthusiasts, mountains represent the toughest of challenges and reward those who can truly persevere! Reaching the summit of the KOM Challenge by bicycle is, for many cyclists, the ultimate expression of personal achievement.
The Taiwan KOM
Challenge begins in Hualien and follows a spectacular route through Taroko
Gorge before finishing at Wuling Pass, on Hehuanshan. Covering a total distance of 105 kilometers, riders
climb from sea level to an elevation of 3,275 meters. The course traverses deep
gorges, passes through multiple climate zones, winds along countless twisting
mountain roads, and finally ascends to full alpine terrain, making it one of
the most demanding and iconic cycling routes in the world.
